HISTORY OF REDD TRUST
Founded in early 2009, Redd Trust was organized as a means to provide sustainable economic development to the worlds’ people groups through the utilization of emerging carbon markets. In the early 1980s, Redd Trust Chairman, David Allen, and his wife, Josette, were called into St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., to remodel a hurricane-stricken property using “green” technologies then available. Through their efforts to develop new routes of supply and trade to sustain the project, they found the greater reward was providing for the people of the island.
After earning the respect and support of the locals, David and Josette commenced a second project on the neighboring island of St. John reknown for its parks, pristine beaches and unique biodiversity. Lifelong admirers of the great outdoors, their first task was to assemble a qualified team to carefully gather up local wildlife for relocation to the protected parks during the construction phase. It was also determined to be unconscionable to have a five star resort set amidst such striking poverty. Thus, through their persistent effort, a plan was devised which successfully established consistent power generation, fresh water lines and transportation routes for the distribution of badly needed drinking water, produce, foods and other items to the greater island. The resulting resort, still in operation today as the Westin Resort St. John, supplied jobs, training and health care for more than 600 people.
With the establishment of the Five Rivers Vineyard Church in the early 1990s, David and Josette carried their compassion from the Caribbean to their hometown. In Dayton, Ohio, they have ministered to thousands through a multitude of programs that provide food, clothing, counseling, financial support, education, health and healing. In the late 1990s, the couple expanded their program to support Gospel Prayer Ministries in India, building churches, orphanages, schools and medical clinics designed to provide a safe haven for India’s abandoned children and widows.
David and Josette continue to support their various ministries primarily through business enterprise, most notably, Iformata Communications LLC. Also based in Dayton, Iformata is the world’s telepresence expert, providing sophisticated and secure global meetings management solutions to multi-national enterprises, top-tier carriers and leading equipment manufacturers. With points of presence in more than 50 countries, Iformata provides seamless face-to-face video communications between any number of participants, including those with disparate endpoints.
